As a guy who’s navigated the treacherous streets, and understanding the potential of a post-apocalyptic city, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges and dangers lurking around every corner. I want to share with you the top 10 self-defense techniques that I’ve learned and adapted, specifically tailored for women. These moves have been crucial in my survival, and I believe they can empower you too if the city turns to chaos with what’s going on with the potential off WW3 and solar flare blackouts.
1. The Trusty Palm Strike
When danger lurks around every corner, a solid palm strike to an attacker’s nose can be a lifesaver. It’s quick, powerful, and can buy you precious time to escape. The palm strike will also keep you from breaking your fist. If you can’t use your hands you’ll be in big trouble.
2. Elbow Power
If someone sneaks up on you from behind, a fierce elbow jab to the ribs or face can be your best bet. It’s all about using your body’s natural weapons. Your elbows are also the hardest and sharpest natural weapon you have. A strike to the jaw might cause a knock out, a strike about the eye can use them to get blood in their eye, and a elbow to the throat might end the situation on the spot.
3. Knee-to-Groin: A Classic
Yes, even in a post-apocalyptic world, the old knee-to-groin move is as effective as ever. It’s instinctive, straightforward, and oh-so-effective. No matter how big a guy is a knee to the groin will most likely bring him to his knees.
4. Stomp the Ankle
Caught in a grip? Stomp hard on their foot, aiming for the ankle. It’s painful and can weaken their hold, giving you a chance to run. It doesn’t matter if your being held from the front, behind or the side this will work. If you injury their ankle they won’t even be able to chase you when you run.
5. Disorienting Ear Clap
Clapping both hands over an attacker’s ears can cause instant disorientation. It’s a bit unconventional but can be a game-changer in close combat and be an opening for a more vital follow up attack.
6. Eye Gouge for Emergencies
In a life-threatening situation, targeting the eyes can be your escape ticket. It’s a last resort but can save your life. This will very effective for most women, especially with the talon a lot of you have your fingers from the nail salon.
7. The Throat Punch
A swift punch to the throat can stop an attacker in their tracks. It’s a vulnerable spot that requires minimal force to impact.
8. Wrist Twist Escape
If someone grabs your arm, twist your wrist towards their thumb – the weakest part of their grip. It’s about being smart and quick. Then follow up the a groin, throat or eye gouge.
9. The Headbutt
A well-aimed headbutt to the nose can be surprisingly effective. It’s unexpected and can give you the upper hand in a close encounter. I repeat, headbutt to the nose! Never make skull to skull impact. His skill is probably hard than yours and you’ll going to be on the losing end.
10. Scream and Sprint
Never underestimate the power of a loud scream – it can startle your attacker and signal for help. And when in doubt, always choose to run.
